Ink & Cartridge Basics
Compatible printer cartridges are alternative cartridges that do not come from the original manufacturer but are produced by another supplier. They can be either new or refurbished. Regardless of the type of cartridge you receive, both types work reliably and can deliver quality comparable to the original product.
Compatible inks and toners:
A brand-new compatible cartridge is designed by another manufacturer specifically for your printer. It functions as a generic version of the original product. To avoid patent infringement, some compatible cartridges may have slight design differences. Nevertheless, they fit in the printer and provide the same print performance as the original cartridge.
Refurbished inks and toners:
Refurbished cartridges come from original cartridges that have already been used. After use, they are recycled and processed by a refurbishment center. They undergo a careful professional process: disassembly, cleaning, quality inspection, refilling, testing, and preparation for reuse. Purchasing refurbished cartridges is environmentally friendly and reduces the number of cartridges ending up in landfills.
